To control our business’ environmental impact, we use several measuring and monitoring systems. For example, we measure air emissions from our waste incineration plants 24 hours a day. If we exceed the limit values, we take immediate action.

The Norwegian Environment Agency publishes estimates of the amount of emissions to air, water and waste generated by various sectors of society. They include annual emissions from businesses that are required to report to the Norwegian Environment Agency, such as our business.

Although we operate sustainable solutions, unwanted incidents may occur that result in emissions to air, water or soil. Such incidents are subject to regular risk assessments, and we are also required to have a good preparedness plan to limit any damage to the external environment that may occur. Fortunately, pollution from power generation is generally limited and concentrated in such accidents.
