Circular use of resources
In the transition from a linear to a circular economy, we need to use our resources for as long as possible.
When we have reached the point where materials can neither be reused nor recycled, and the only thing we can do is incinerate what has become waste, it is important that this is done in the best possible way and that builds on a circular economy.
Waste incineration
Waste incineration is an important societal task. It helps us deal with waste that cannot or should not be reused or recycled, and is important for removing environmental toxins and infectious agents from the cycle. At the same time, we utilize the energy from this process to heat Oslo, and from the ash, large quantities of metals and minerals are extracted for new use.
In our district heating production, we largely use circular energy sources to heat, for example, buildings and homes in Oslo.
